What's happening in the Creston Valley
Are you up for the sunrise? Join the staff at the Creston Valley Wildlife Interpretation Centre on Saturday, August 1st to watch the wetland come alive as the sun rises, paddling through the ponds and channels in search of wildlife from 7:00 to 9:00am. Cost is $10 per person, free for Members. Please register for this event.
On Saturday evening at 7pm, August 1st, the Creston Arts Council is celebrating its 40th Anniversary by holding "A Mid-Summer's Eve" party for invited Arts Council members and dignitaries. Limited tickets are available at Black Bear Books for $10.00/person.
Beginning Monday, August 3 is 'Millennium Mondays', a series of Free Community Concerts. Join us every Monday night in August and September from 7-9 pm at Millennium Park for the best of local musicians. So grab your lawn chairs, come on down, and join us for this free concert series.
On Saturday, August 15 at the Creston Museum, tea or lemonade, dainty sandwiches and sweets will be served at the Annual Old Fashioned Tea on the Museum's shaded patio with some special entertainment! There will be three seatings, at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00pm, reservations are recommended.
If you enjoy nature, join the CVWMA's Nocturnal Naturalist on an evening stroll across a wetland meadow to meet our nighttime creatures as they flap, scuttle and ooze their way about. Flashlights, gumboots and a pocket full of Grandma's cookies are all you need for this outing from 7:30 to 9:30pm on Saturday, August 15th. The cost is $2 per person. Please register for this event.
Beginning on Wednesday, August 19 thru Friday, August 21 in Millenium Park, 16th Ave. S, is the Annual Shakespeare in the Park IV performed by the multi-talented Footlighters Theatre Troupe beginning at 5:30pm each evening. This you don't want to miss!
On Sunday, July 26 & Monday, July 27th the 7th Annual Gray Creek Museum Days will be held at the Gray Creek Hall from 12 noon to 6:00pm. There will be displays of memories, posters, art and videos with free admission and refreshments. A special time for reminiscing and visiting with family, old friends and neighbours.
